Use Intentions to Create a Greater Impact

My intention for this post is to provide an informative and uplifting tool for spiritual growth for all who are ready to take the leap. Intentions can guide us is so many ways both consciously and unconsciously. They allow us to direct our energy to the most fruitful outcomes toward whatever our goals may be. As the saying goes, energy flows where attention goes. Use the power of intentions to guide your spiritual progress.

Consciously an intention of “I intend to have more joy in my life” can bring about a shift in how you think about your daily activities. With this intention in mind maybe you are inspired to take up painting or writing, something you’ve always wanted to do. Perhaps you continue to try new things that you might not have otherwise tried until you’ve found that one thing that brings you true joy. The energy you put forth because of the attention you put on it will lead you toward your goal.

The unconscious mind is a store house of all of your memories, even those you did not register consciously at the time. It regulates your breathing and so may other things essential for your physical well being without any conscious effort on your part. It can also take a conscious intention and guide you unconsciously to the outcome you desire.

Let’s take an example intention of “I intend to be more loving toward my partner today.”. Your unconscious mind may then create a circumstance that causes you to consciously pause and think about the argumentative statement you were about to make. Or you may find that, because of seemingly unrelated decisions you’ve made throughout your day, that you have more time to spend with your spouse in the evening. Of course you can also consciously make decisions that benefit your relationship but with your unconscious mind in the passenger seat you can make a much greater impact.

We are all energy at our core. The spirit animates our physical bodies and energy is all around us. We are all connected with threads of energy. Regardless or your level of awareness of this energy, the unconscious mind can direct how this energy flows. There have been several times in my own spiritual practice where I’ve set the intention for the energy around me to behave in a very specific way. I’m able to feel how that energy moves myself. But I’ve also had confirmation from several others who are able to see my energy that it was moving in exactly the way I had intended it to move. These intentions can last for as long as you intend for them to last.

Another aspect of our mind is the higher conscious mind. This is the part of the mind that is connected directly to the energy all around us and to our spiritual team. Bringing the higher conscious mind into our intentions ensures that we bring in all of the resources available to us. That level of expectation can impact others around us as well to align with our intent where our paths cross.

With all of that being said, intentions can be much more effective as your level of trust in the unconscious mind grows. That, for the most part, will come with time and conscious evidence that you are making progress with your intentions. To help build that trust I like to have sort of a dialog with the different parts of my mind. For example, I might say “Unconscious, Higher Conscious, and Conscious minds, my intention for this post is to provide an informative and uplifting tool for spiritual growth for all who are ready to take the leap. Thank you for providing all of the tools and resources needed or wanted to make this a reality now.”. In this statement I am addressing each part of my mind personally, I am showing gratitude, and I am creating the expectation that current and future events will unfold to make this happen.

To propel your spiritual progress it is important to give some thought on what your goals are. Then align your energy to match that goal by setting intentions with purpose. And remember to express gratitude as you make progress on your spiritual path.
