We all have things in our past we may regret or feelings that build up that we never fully deal with. I’m not talking about trauma or other major life events but rather the small things that build up over time. In my own life I recall a few times when I became angry with another driver because they cut me off in traffic. Those feelings can pass quickly but if not acknowledged they can create energy blocks that slow our spiritual growth. In my example I could work on clearing this in one evening and put it behind me. In other circumstances you may feel that clearing several times is necessary.
According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, forgiveness is “to cease to feel resentment against (an offender)”. Who is the offender? In the case of a lost friendship who is to blame? It could be pretty clear that one person takes the greater share of the blame but both parties probably contributed to the outcome in one way or another. So forgiveness is likely about forgiving yourself as much as it is forgiving another person.
Forgiveness can be difficult when you feel the other person doesn’t deserve to be forgiven. When we forgive someone else the memories of what occurred are still there but maybe the edges soften a little. Perhaps you don’t make excuses for what they did — or for what you did, either. Instead, acknowledge what has happened and forgive with the understanding that this is about healing and growing, not about dismissing or forgetting.
Energetically we are all connected. Just as cutting down a tree in a forest will create more sunlight for the plants growing around it, you cannot change yourself without changing those around you. In the same way, clearing your own energy will change how others around you are impacted. Forgiveness is not about telling someone you forgive them or even expecting forgiveness from them in turn. It’s about changing yourself, your own energy, and your own thoughts. In doing this you can not help but to change how the other person feels, interacts, and thinks about you. You can not have one without the other. You may find that the other people involved are able to improve their own situations and approach their own lives in a more loving manner. By healing yourself you are impacting how those affected treat other people in their own lives in a ripple effect.
When you clear the energy you have trapped in this cycle of repetitive blame you are free to accelerate your own spiritual growth. When you free up this part of your energy another person is holding on to in their own cycle of judgment or blame, you are free to dive deeper into what you want in the present. Energies of blame, resentment, guilt, and judgment are of a lower vibration. Part of raising your energy vibration is about letting go of these things that are holding you back and transforming that energy into a higher vibration.
There are a lot of different tools you can use to break the cycle of stuck energies. I recommend creating your own daily process to do this in the evening, especially when it’s been a stressful day for you. Some of the things you can work into your routine might be thinking of the circumstances and mentally asking for forgiveness, mentally offering forgiveness to yourself and others, and sending love to all people, places and past circumstances involved. If you work with angelic guidance, Archangel Michael is a good resource to help you cut the cords to other people or circumstances. All you need to do is ask!
Some of the other, simple yet powerful, techniques you could use are healing light bubbles, filters, Hoʻoponopono, or a violet flame exercise. Keep an eye out for future workshops on these topics at GuidedWithLove.com. What you use may vary depending on your specific circumstances. In a one-on-one session I would recommend a specific set of techniques that are a right fit for you.

Reading about forgiveness is one thing — building it into your actual life is another. That’s exactly the kind of work I do alongside clients in spiritual coaching: taking these ideas out of the blog post and into your real, day-to-day rhythm, with someone in your corner as you go.
If you’re newer to this, meditation guidance is often the gentlest place to start — it’s the foundation a lot of this other work builds on. And if you’re feeling stuck, drained, or just sense something needs to shift on a deeper level, energy healing might be worth exploring.
No pressure, no sales pitch — just an open door if you’re curious. You can see everything I offer on the services page, or simply reach out in a 15 minute discovery call and we can talk about what might fit where you are right now.
